Dictionary of World Coachbuilders and Car Stylists
This reference work catalogs 5,493 companies and 1,806 personalities from the coachbuilding branch, from the end of the 19th century to the present, from 61 countries. It provides essential facts about the manufacturers: complete name, location, years active, types of coachworks built, chassis marques used, and other basic data. Brief car stylists biographies, list of main body styles and bibliographical references complete this Dictionary.

Included are companies and personalities involved in coachbuilding and car styling, but only those using passenger or sports car chassis for their creations. Commercial vehicle chassis (buses, trucks) are excluded. All entries are listed in alphabetical order, with extensive cross-referencing. Personal names are in italics. Production years indicate the period of car body production; the founding year (if different) is mentioned in the text.

As a special gift for loyal readers there is a USB stick with nearly 14,000 free photos for their own use.

Review
I received both books, and I must say that they are very impressive; very complete lists of Automobile manufacturers, and coachbuilders. The books lack photographs; but then, the books would have been at least double the pages, and three times the price.
With the dictionary of World Coachbuilders and Car Stylists comes a USB stick with thousands of photographs. the photographs are of very varying quality, but give a nice overview of all beautiful, strange, and sometimes ugly bodywork that was made, all over the world!

Below, as an example, the Brazilian Kusters Alfa Romeo 6C 2300 of 1932. (click the photo for more views of the same car)
